The role of fathers in the development of the healthy child using ALSPAC
Objectives
There is good evidence to suggest that fathers play a key role in the health, development and wellbeing of their partners and their children. The objective of this project is to investigate paternal wellbeing and the role of fathers and parenting in the development of the healthy child using two large population-based UK cohort studies.
Methods
Secondary analysis of the ALSPAC Study. The main focus of the study will be the impact of paternal characteristics, paternal relationships with the mother and child, and paternal involvement in parenting during the antenatal period and first two years of the child's life on the development of resilience in the child.
